How we help you check sources

We help you check the records the supplier provides; we don't certify, verify or audit them.

When you look at a supply or a carbon credit, you need to know where each record comes from and who issued it. We help you check the records the supplier provides, with who issued them. Where a record doesn't exist, we say so.

What we ask suppliers and project issuers for

We ask suppliers for the records that describe their supply: the specification, where it comes from, and any test results or certificates, with who issued each one. We ask project issuers for the registry record behind each credit. We share what they provide, as provided, with who issued it. We don't issue, verify or certify these records.

Carbon credits and the registry record

For each credit, we help you check what the public registry record shows, such as the project, the methodology and the vintage. We help buyers find credits issued on recognised registries such as Verra. Where what you were told doesn't match the record, we say so. When credits are retired, you can ask for your company to be named as the beneficiary.

Biochar, feedstock and crops

For biochar, feedstock and crops, we help you check any test result or certificate the supplier provides: the document, and who issued it. We don't test, verify or certify material ourselves, and we make no claims about how a crop is grown. For crops, the buyer or their licensed importer handles import permits, plant-health checks and customs.

When a record doesn't exist

Where a record doesn't exist, we say so. We don't fill the gap with our own assessment, and we don't give ratings. You decide with what's there in view. Our data service is planned. When it opens, it will bring project and registry data into one place, with the source named beside each item.

FAQ

We have a sustainability plan but no supplier. Where do we start?

Start by telling us what you need: biochar, feedstock, biomass or residue-based fuels, or carbon credits, the volume, the specification and the term, spot or long-term. We help you find suppliers or project issuers that fit and advise on the detail. Buyer and supplier contract directly, not with MACROAGRI. Use Discuss offtake to begin.

How do I know a carbon credit or biochar supply is traceable?

Ask for the records behind it, and who issued each one. For a carbon credit, that's the public registry record: project, methodology and vintage. For biochar, it's any test result or certificate the producer provides. We help you check the records the supplier provides, with who issued them. Where a record doesn't exist, we say so.

Which carbon registries do you work with?

We help buyers find credits issued on recognised registries such as Verra. For each credit, we help you check the public registry record, such as the project, the methodology and the vintage. Transfers happen between registry accounts; an account holder makes each retirement. When credits are retired, you can ask for your company to be named as the beneficiary.

Can we agree spot supply as well as long-term?

Yes. We connect buyers with suppliers and project issuers spot or long-term. A spot deal covers one supply on agreed terms. A longer agreement sets volume, specification and timing across several periods. You choose the term, and buyer and supplier contract directly. We help you find a supplier that fits and advise on the detail.

Who do we contract with?

You contract directly with the supplier or project issuer, not with MACROAGRI. We help you find the right counterparty, introduce you and advise on the detail: the specification, the term and the records to ask for. In our advisory work, MACROAGRI doesn't own, hold or deliver the supply or credits, and isn't party to your contract.

When do we get the supplier's details and the delivery records?

Once you commit, and with the supplier's agreement, you get the supplier's details. We're building records for each delivery. We help you check the records the supplier provides, with who issued them; where a record doesn't exist, we say so. For carbon credits, retirement shows in the public registry record.

Can you help us check credits we already hold or have been offered?

Yes. Share the project and the registry details you have. We help you check them against the public registry record: the project, the methodology and the vintage. Where something doesn't match or a record doesn't exist, we say so. We don't rate credits or issue an opinion on their quality.

Is it only carbon credits?

No. We also help buyers find biomass or residue-based fuels, biochar and biomass feedstock, spot or long-term, and we help you check the records each supplier provides, with who issued them. Buyer and supplier contract directly. We're building the same for power. Tell us what you need through Discuss offtake, and we'll advise on the detail.
